Be amazed by the antics of cheats. Understand the science behind drugs and sex testing. See corruption at the top. How bad is the problem? This book is a mixture of amusing, astounding and educating. It makes you laugh but makes you think.

The seedy side of sport is revealed. From bribery to hiring thugs, from taking a car round a marathon course to twins sharing the course, fame has its price. Some things are immoral but not illegal.

Drug use from strychnine to steroids is explored along with sex testing. Medical terms are explained in simple words. Testing and penalties are discussed. The bad science behind sports drinks, supplements and nutrition is described in plain English.

The ingenuity of cheats is matched only by their excuses on getting caught. There is corruption and denial at the top. State sponsored drug abuse is rife. Referees are corrupt or incompetent.

Is sportsmanship dead? Whom can we trust? The fans pay. They must decide.
