Reading Football Club have been the subject of many quirky tales and incidents over the years. Now, for the first time, these tales and events are brought together in one absorbing book.

Among the items featured are the many weird and obscure sports staged by the club, the numerous records set by Reading and some very strange pitch invaders. Even the inevitable list of club ‘bests’ defies expectations.

Famous names who have played for Reading, among them George Best, Daley Thompson and Martin Peters, find themselves alongside a football-hating horse, goalscoring nuns and a Premier League footballer who is, allegedly, half-goose.

Still not enough? Sedunary also investigates how Phil Collins was asked to resolve a contentious sending-off, why actress Cherie Lunghie helped to get a Reading manager sacked and when Captain Kirk swapped the Starship Enterprise for Elm Park.

All this and more is revealed in The Little Book of Reading FC…
